MK4-4MK Presents
MK5

MK5 Is Real
Right now people are still throwing their quarters for that hit game called Mortal Kombat 4. But some people are thinking about the future. Yes, MK5 is set to be created and work on it could come as soon as two months. There are many indications that MK5 is coming, but now it is a for sure. Gampro Magazine has an article in their April issue about MK5. Gamepro reports that MK5 is already in production and will be based on the successor of the Zeus graphic chipset, yes, the Zeus II. TRMK reported back on December 21, 1997 that production would start in two months. The article Gamepro put out put an end to anybody who doubted MK5 was in the works. Below is the article straight from Gamepro itself:

Midway has confirmed that two of its hottest arcade franchises are already ramping up with sequels. NFL Blitz ‘98 improves upon the raucous original by increasing the number of human participants to four. Meanwhile, it should prove as no suprise to anyone that Mortal Kombat 5 is officially in the works, this time based on Midway’s ZEUS II hardware, the still evolving successor to MK4’s circuitry.

Proof of Mortal Kombat 5
VGMaster said that the boys over at the Cell told him when they played, they saw MK5 spelled out under the "Greatest Kombatant" during the intro. Well, a lot of people probably would not beleive it without seeing it with their own bare eyes. Dungeon Master has the proof and you can find it at MK4's Cell. They've got the pictures which tells it all for proof.

Proof I Found Myself But Very Tricky
You know, everybody talks about what the screen says on MK4. Wow, it says "MK5". Then people talk about what Midway said or Gampro said this. But I found a huge clue that I don't know if anybody thought of or tryed besides me. Since I know Midway designed the official (but weak) MK4 site supposidly to advertise and give you a few helpful moves. Well, I figured, if MK5 is coming out for real, isn't there going to be the domain name "mk5.com" taken by somebody (assuming Midway). So I typed in http://www.mk5.com and surely enough, someone, maybe Midway has already bought the web space and has their parent directory up, but no files yet. The one thing is though that it says it was last modified August 31, 1997. I wonder, were they planning MK5 way back since August and maybe they're covering something up and it's almost done or something crazy like that. You never know with these people, but I guess were going to have to wait until the next move circulating MK5.

Latest News
There isn't really any news but rumor and speculation. Rumor has it MK5 will have 20 characters total, and that returning ones will include: Lui Kang, Scorpion & Sub-Zero, along with new-comers Chow Kang: Lui Kang's brother, Jarod: Kitana's real Father, and Master Cháng: Lui Kang's master. All these characters are mear rumor and hopefully there will be more on this subject soon.

MK5 Symbols To Be Used
There isn't any symbols that have been released to the press, but a few people on their own have made some pretty decent looking symbols. There are two I've found. The first one (left) was created and is copyright by VGMaster and he has a very nice MK4 web site at http://simply.simplenet.com/mkk titled "Kombat Konnection". The second symbol (right) was made by Krisstoff and is also nice and again is copyright. If you have any symbols you made or want to send, either send them through download or the URL here. Both symbols are below:
